Just want to get some discussion on these octane boosters on the market. Do they do anything? Whats exactly in a bottle of these babies? If it's like a little bottle of AVGAS i'll take 20!

If you tune your car to run on it then im pretty sure you can get small gains....otherwise you probs wont notice...

yeh the high octane wont do much on stocky ozz cars unless they are set to run on higher octane.

there has been some incidents where octane boost products have been known to be a contributing cause to engine / fuel system damage ...

I'd be careful (I personally prefer not to use them and instead just pump 98 octane)

the JDM EG6 is rated 170HP at 102octance..or 100 was it...

    i dunno

using aussie 98 PULP it will make 160 HP and will not run efficiently as it would with higher rating

i suggest any 1 who is going to use it

use a well known brand that gurantees..no damage...

and b4 u use boosters u need to get your injectors cleaned

well that's what i am doing to my car soon

i've read on another forum, some guy with an is200, he said that as a result of using fuel additives, i think it was injector cleaners or something like that, his injectors became damaged as a result..

anyone able to shed some light on this? and does it apply to injector cleaners only, or all fuel additives in general?

I agree I have also heared this (re injector damage)

that's what puts me off all-together about this whole thing

I wish we have 100 octane petrol

Well I used to have an E class Merc, and with every tank top up I used to add a Mobil fuel system cleaner (not concentrated) and never had any problems 8)

I used to add octane booster to my 6.6 Trans Am engine, but I never had any bad effect.

for my civic I added STP octane booster two weeks ago and didn't notice any problem, but I guess it was a waste of money!! :x
