    The 2006 Honda Odyssey officially went on sale today (10 August, 2005). Here is the official statement of changes from Honda:

    Honda has delivered an all-new completely re-engineered Odyssey minivan for 2005: a clean-sheet design that improves upon every single one of the Odyssey’s existing strengths through enhancements in styling, premium features, advanced technology and driving performance – built on the foundation of Honda quality, safety and environmental leadership. For the 2006 model year, the Odyssey adds:

    • 3.5-liter VTEC V-6 engine on LX and EX (244 horsepower* @ 5750 rpm and 240 lb-ft.* of torque @ 5000 rpm)
    • 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine on EX-L and Touring (244 horsepower* @ 5750 rpm and 240 lb-ft*. of torque @ 4500 rpm)
    • Touring model now available with DVD Entertainment System, previously available only in combination with a navigation system
    • XM™ Satellite Radio added as standard equipment on all Touring models, previously available only in combination with a navigation system
    • Leather trimmed steering wheel and shift knob added to all EX-L models.
    • Tether anchors added to 3rd row outboard seats

    does it have sliding rear-doors this time or Honda is still going with old style doors???

    I too hope that doesn't come here, not that I'll be buying the current model, but I'd hate to get myself confused with seeing that USDM version and a Kia on the roads here while I'm cruising

    yuk. I agree about the Kia bit. The V6 is good though. Should have been an option for the current Odyssey
