i replaced my front n rear speakers in my EG..
front. ive got 6".. just take out the 4" bracket.. u dont need it!!

the rears.. i was able to put a 6".. from memory.. it was either 6".. or 6.5"

.. u can go to a sound system specialist.. such as Desire for sound. n they would probabli be able to tell u the biggest speakers u can put, as they do it every day..

O yeh. ive got a VTI.. SOo my rear arm rests came with brackets

i dunno if this helps or not but i have a similar setup in my old sk00l accord. To fit my 6x9's into the side panels where the pockets where i had to make a custom mount using mdf and then had to cut the viynl trim in order to make it look snug, i still need to finish the edges off with some black lining tho.

My '95 EG VTI has had 6.5" splits in the rear. I doubt you'd fit (or want) 6x9 in there... you'd also blow your rear passengers away, 'cos the speakers are basically right next to them. My 6.5"s do the job easy.
