Could we setup some kind of wikipedia ?

It would work so well with the knowledge on the site. even with the melbourne restaurant thread it would be excellent..

works like a data-dict for lookup on info or for reference to subjects

i think 2ds is suggesting a model like the wikipedia...

    see this

So in other words you want the site to have its own 'Directory' like on yahoo???

This is possible to do, but it would mean alot of data would be duplicated. I think in 6months time it may come in use when we need to start archiving. But maybe not at this point in OH life.

um, maybe i typed the wrong thing =D

basically it would be a user editable encylopedia of honda stuff. eg, there could be an entry for "turbo charging" and 50 different users might actually have written a different piece of the final page

uhhh, perhapse this explains it better http://melbourne.wireless.org.au/wiki/

currently there is an absolute shitload of knowledge on the forums but it slowly disappears out of view and people either have to search for it, or more likely they make a new post asking the same question. basically it would allow us to stick all this knowledge in one place and not have to worry about it becoming stale.

Saw a post with a link to this thread.

What do people think of getting a Wiki going? I don't know much about it to be honest

Im learning about / making wiki's at uni atm... basically an online encyclopedia that anyone can edit at anytime... a pooling of public knowledge.

Id be all for it... be the first forum with this feature that i know of... ever

There is a guide to help start a page, you need to create an account first, which should be straight forward.
