    ARC Air box for S2K

Ive been doing a bit of reading on S2K's and have realised that its very important to carefully choose the performance parts that your fitting on the car.
The Mugen air intake is obviously very good but costs an arm and a leg. Ive been thinking on getting an ARC air box as this seems like a very efficient and responsive air intake and reasonably priced.
    Any thoughts on the ARC?

    Hey mate

if you haven't already known, check out the S2k forum www.s2ki.com

There are plenty more S2K owners there then here! lol

Anyways, my friend was contemplating on getting the ARC box but it was quite costly aswell! Isn't it like $600-700???

Check out in the S2K section Fly's got a Comptech intake for his S2K. It looks the good with the carbon fibre box etc but I'm not too sure on gains. It's like $550-$600 or so off one of our Traders.

the ARC air box is nearly $500. I'll take a look at the international forum as well.

mate, i have a comptech icebox in my S2K and it is great imo, costs around the $500 mark...gives the car a really agressive sound and improves throttle response. Heres a pic of what it looks like

the ARC airbox reduces horsepower, it sucks hot air in the engine, it is like driving a standard filter with the airbox lid off except the ARC box gives a quicker throttle reponse.

is there a test page of different air intakes for S2K's? The international forum has such a bad search engine.

from what i managed to get out of the crappy search engine is that the ARC air box was a big headache for US owners to fit because of the AC lines. This is due to their vehicle being LHD.
Most of them also stated that ARC dont say the approx gains to expect. Most of the owners that had it mentioned they had better throttle response but not too sure about actual power gains.
Regarding the Injen intake, I also read theres some cutting required. Is this true?
