any1 got these on their ek civics? particularly with 17's...

if so, what perch do u have them on and how many fingers can u fit between the tyres and the wheel arch?

i'm worried abt mine cos i just got these in a week ago. they are on the middle perch but the rear is quite low (1.5 finger gap) and the front is at 3 finger gap. i'm trying to work out what the hell is wrong...

    any ideas?

Nicest civic I have ever driven had Koni Yellow's, matched springs, 24mm rear stab bar, castor kit, falken anzenis on lightweight 17s.
Twas beautiful, but wasn;t lowered all theway so it still had some suspension travel

the rear of the vehicle (sitting in a stock setup position) should / will have a smaller gap between the rubber and guards.

that said.... ur prokits are sposed to be only lowering 1.5"
ur wheels are 17"..... which means (in the most simplest of worlds) that u have an extra 1" on either side of the wheel, over stock rims.
which means (in the most simplest and ideal worlds) that ur 1.5" drop is only about .5" drop, because of the extra inch it needs to compensate for.

now obviously the math in that isnt totally exact, but i am explaining in a simple way.

for example a car on 17s dropped 2" will look about the same height as a car on 15s dropped 1.5". because there is compensation somewhere

the middle perch is meant to be the stock height perch. so in other words, if u kept stock springs and only had the shocks, technically it should be the same height. lower perch for lower 1", and higher perch for higer 1".

    that is my understanding anyways

you havent taken total diameter into account. The 17's shouldnt be very much different to the stock wheels with the correct rubber.

Have a look at the skirts rather than wheel gap...are the skirts level with the ground? They should be. The front will always have a greater gap in the guards than the rears

    *in the simplest ideal world*

yes, u do need to take into count the rubber.....

    im assuming..... 15s on 195/55/15, and 17s on 205/45/17
    107.25....... cms.... plus 15"
    92.25...... cms... plus 17"
guess that should be bout the same.

guess it depends basically on the total diameter of the wheel + rubber combo.....

the two examples i gave.... were based on 17s on 205/45, and 15s on 205/50s i think....
    so yeah.... my bad!

    when do we hit vtec?

i have 205/40/17 which is the closest to the 205/50/15 i had but yeah, 195/55/15 is stock. but if u had 205/45/17, i read often that the 45 profile puts ur speedo a bit more out.

when i look at the skirts, the bit at the front is abt 1-1.5 fingers higher than the rear. i mean it doesn't look all too bad, but if i could, i'd rather it be perfecto

can any1 confirm if lowering the perch 1 notch is really 1" diff (particularly on pro kit springs)?

    thx guys

look at the perches.... if i can remember correctly the perches look about an inche from each other.... so thats just a guess.

doesnt matter what spring... the perches are still the same length apart.

koni perches from memory have 3 on the front shocks and two on the rear.

the stock height is the middle on front. Then you have one notch up or down which is + or - 10mm on the front.

on the rear stock position was set and there was just +10mm on rear.

NA all the way, turbos are ghey.
