OK FOLKS u all know i am a crazy odyssey fan..
well i was at work and i was bored..so here we go
In June 1995, with the Odyssey, Honda launched its first foray into this market.
When launched, it was surprising that Honda only furnished the Odyssey with six seats. However, the wagon was well endowed with equipment, trumping rival Toyota’s Tarago in value for money. Used values reflect this. By March 1996, Honda offered the same vehicle in a seven-seater.
January 1998 saw an upgrade in equipment, a revised auto transmission and a slightly bigger engine with variable valve timing.
The original Odyssey was powered by a 104 kW, 2.2-litre, single overhead cam, fuel-injected engine. The 1998 upgrade increased capacity to 2.3 litres, boosting power by 6 kW and increasing engine torque. Initial acceleration, engine smoothness and fuel economy benefited.
The Odyssey performs fairly well considering its weight. (proven in number of occasions at the old road) Power is delivered to the front wheels via a four-speed adaptive auto transmission. Honda opted for a column- mounted shift to accommodate a walk-through facility between the front seats.

The odyssey also comes in the V6 and the V6L versions. A smooth and powerful 154kW 3.0-litre engine with VTEC powers the Honda Odyssey V6. The engine has been tuned to provide high-speed power and low-speed torque, providing an easy transition from city driving to highway cruising. Engineers made significant efforts to create a V6 as quiet and smooth as the four-cylinder engine. Refinements to the starter motor, pistons and alternator, plus added noise-resistant material ensure minimal noise.
