What spring rates? Weight distribution

I got my car weighed today.
It came in at 1120kg without me in the car.
740kg front and 380kg rear

Not too much fuel and no spare tyre in it.

This equates to front to rear weight distribution of 66% front and 34% rear.

What's a pretty reasonable weight distribution for a FF car? 60/40?

And how is 66/34 for overall handling if there is good suspension gear in the car?


These are my shock and spring specifications:

Front spring rate 220-260 lbs/in Progressive
Rear spring rate 170-220 lbs/in Progressive

Damper rates (measured at 600mm per second)
Front bump rate 1000nm
Front rebound 3000nm

Rear bump rate 850nm
Rear rebound 2750nm

Valving design is linear to digressive.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Corner weighting can get complex from what I understand (or lack of)... I'd imagine that raising the front springs will put more weight on the rears... which may even it out a bit, but then under cornering/braking etc it all changes again. Which is probably where spring rates, swaybars etc come in... it would really be best to speak to whoever did your weighting (given that they are a suspension shop that is...) and ask for their advice.

But for a FWD that's not too bad... I have a slight feeling that your dampers might be slightly out though but I'm not sure on that. I still don't progressive spring rates and such...! Really I can't be of much help, otherwise I'd be making stuff up... sorry But I'm sure somebody will now come and "help" by correcting me in some way... -_-;
