    Arrows chassis for Super Aguri?
A23 the solution for the 11th team?

    Limited options for Aguri Suzuki
Super Aguri F1 is awaiting the go-ahead from the FIA after submitting their application to compete in Formula One next season. One major sticking points has been finding a suitable chassis in time to make the grid in Bahrain next march. Now according to Reuters the new squad could run the old Arrows chassis currently owned by Paul Stoddart.

The Mike Coughlan designed A23 chassis was at the time a very competitive chassis. So much so that when Arrows closed its doors, then Minardi owner Stoddart purchased the chassis' and the intellectual rights to the design at auction. Minardi tested the car and used some of the concepts on its final designs.

"We are negotiating with them, it's the only thing that makes sense given the time scale that they have got," Reuters reports Stoddart as saying. "It is something that is very, very do-able and the car would be able to run in Bahrain. Any other option is either against the Concorde Agreement or very difficult to achieve."

Super Aguri F1 has setup shop in the former Arrows facility at Leafield and has been advertising in the national press and local papers for staff. Should the team conclude a deal to buy the old Arrows designs, then they have either the option of converting the car to house the new Honda V8 powerplant or perhaps placing this year's Honda v10 into the car. The team are expected to run Takuma Sato with a number of drivers linked to the second seat.

Oh no... That would be freaking sloooow! Even the all Conquering Ferrari F2003 would be a shit box by today's standards, let alone the "Also-ran" Arrow A23 for next season...... Why should they bother to do that ... just making the Honda image looks bad ... whether it be a V8 or v10....

Fortnately, at least the 107% qualifying restriction didn't apply anymore ...... otherwise I am pretty sure that A23 wont be able to make it to the grid in any of the races, even if Schumi is driving.

I'm sure they would make some adjustments to the A23.
They wouldn't be putting alot of money in for no reason.

Then again, if you do have Sato driving for you, you might as well put a XY Phase III GTO shell with a F1 engine. At least the dents wouldn't show as much

the cars still not legal (aero wise)... the one at Bahrain will be slightly different..

Its far from legal from what I read.
Old chassis, old engine (compared to other teams)
Was it smart to enter this year?
    I'm not so sure
