Newcomer -> Member - Changes

Hi all,

As part of the changes around here the next thing we've decided to do to stop spamming is to scrap the 50 post requirement for becoming a member.

From now on to become a "Member" you need to be registered for at least 90 days and have at least 1 Post Quality point (ie Green dot under your name).

Post count has nothing to do with it anymore and hopefully this (coupled with the hiding of post counts) will help reduce some of the spamming that takes place.

Sounds like a good decision. The idea will definitely stop the useless spamming by the new comers in the forum.

This is a good example to why the OzHonda GM has taken the post counts away tRipitaka.

I've noticed less spamming in the past few weeks, it's been much better

win, statistically has there been a drop in the amount of posts accross the site since the changes?

I'm a bit lazy to check at the moment (too damn hot). But it won't be quite objective as we did disabled new registrations for awhile (usually around 15-20 new users per day).
