problems after installing CAI

hi everyone,

ive just finished installing my CAI and went for a drive. First problem that i noticed is that my idle speed changed from 700-800rpm to around 1200rpm. Also theres a orange engine light thing that lit up when i turn the engine on??

how can i fix these problems and whats causing them??

perhaps you should state what civic/crx you drive? did you correctly re-attach all hoses etc?

sorry abt that..its a civic 94 vti hatch. yeah the only hose that i had to take of from the old intake is the hose from the rocker cover to the intake hose..

did u put the sensor back in?

yups..the sensor and the hose are put back where they were..

mmm weird prob i've never had ne thing like this, ive changed from stock to cai a few times...

have u tried resetting your ECU ? you can do this by unpluggin the negative terminal of your battery for 5-10minutes and then putting it back in. turn on your car. and let it idle for another 5minutes.

does a knock sensor cause your orange warning light to come on?

so is idle stuck at 1200rpm? or is it fluctuating?

ZCO: Ok i will give that a go..thanx!

ACTIONMAN-1: Nah i dont think so because after putting the CAI in, as soon as i turn on the car, the orange light just came on.. I dunno what that means???

MoDCoN: It fluctuates only a little bit and also u can hear it fluctuate from the exhuast..

Also ive put a VTEC light ages ago, and it used to come on about 4900rpm, and now the VTEC light doesnt light up no more?? and the car backfires sometimes??
