I think my 'friend at honda' is the same as TYPEONE's and I have been sworn that we will get 4 civic's in 2006:

    1.8L SOHC Sedan (Vi/Luxury spec)
    1.8L SOHC Sedan (GLi/Entry Spec)
    1.3L HYBRID Sedan
    2.0L DOHC Coupe.

I was also told "Australia will definately be getting a type R"..

Personally from my own research and experience, I would say we'll get the 1.8L coupe in 2007 when initial sales wane.. I'd still be surprised if we get a 2L in either the sedan or a coupe.. but once again it'd be to boost sales after the initial release.

as for a type R - well I'd say IF we ever get one it wont be till the facelift model or even the model year after the facelift.

AS for the hatch ? well after the not-so-hot sales for the out-going Vi 5-doors I doubt Honda Australia is in a hurry to re-introduce another 5-door.. just cause it's got shaved rear door handles, it's still a 5-door minivan guys !!

this is official govt site, any vehicle that comes into aust has to have a rvcs:

    http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/perl/...2005101228.cmd

so looks like the new civic will have hybrid, 1.8 and 2.0L engines

    Good work 7th Gen.
I went to the rvcs website and found that the new RAV4 will be offered in 4 four-door models with only a 2.4L engine. No V6.

Well it's a K20 under the hood plus lots of features for your dough.

if we get an Si Coupe or god-forbid a Type R it will be significantly higher than $30K.

what do you expect ? I mean My EG5 back 12 years ago was $29,990 so really when you think about it it's pretty reasonable.
