The engine position of the new DC5 intergas are different to others. As you can see in the pic, the intake manifold and runners can be clearly seen as it is situated in front of the engine bay, as opposed to the more traditional position of towards the back. The manifold is situated towards the back of the engine bay. I can't seem to think of a reason why this is done beside the reason that the manifold has a shorter running path into the exhaust system. This mounting system is also similar to the new celica's VVTL-i 2ZZ-GE engine. Can anyone shed some light to why these engines are positioned in this manner??!!

    Cheers..

Traditional Honda automobile engines (when viewed from the perspective of the timing belt) spin anti-clockwise, different to the rotation of virtually all other automobile engines on the planet.

By changing the way it rotates, Honda can sell engines as well as transmissions to other car manufacturers. So since S2000's four-cylinder and the Ohio-built V6, all Honda engines rotate clock-wise with respect to viewing it from the timing belt.

Also, the exhaust has better flow and you have more room to put a catalytic converter closer to the manifold.
