dc2r clutch flywheel advice
gday everyone
i know ive had a thread like this before, and there is a lot of info on the search function ive looked up but before i commit to a decision i really wanted to put a few things forward and ask for some advice on everyones thoughts and opinions
clutch
my mechanic said hed heard of execy and they were good units, but he said he had used daikin units and he thought they were just as good, im looking at the sprt organic exedy... any comments for this point guys? ive heard some people say that the exedy sports organic shudders at times.... what does this mean? and how do you all feel about these units? im currently on my factory one
flywheel
i know someone selling a today resurfaced second hand flywheel, can anyhting go wrong with a second hand unit? its being sold for 450, someone else has a brand new spoon unit for 550, any comments? a new toda is 650 so i thought in the itnerests of buying something brand new i go halfway in between...
ive heard people complain of whining noises from the toda flywheel
guys please, i know i should ahve searched and all that, and i have, but i like to get real feedback....
thanks
Kalen

i thought exedy and daikin were basically the same? the heavy duty shouldn't shudder, and there is nothing wrong with a secondhand machined flywheel if the price is right and its in good condition.
-
i regards to the clutch i think you'll find exedy are manufactured by daikin. hope that helps
edit: other words they are basically the same.

hey man
wheres ur source? and was it the sports organic, and lastly, u happy?

Using an Exedy Heavy Duty here (not organic). I drive to work every day, very happy with it, only shudders reversing up the driveway hill in the morning. Seemed great at Wakefield too, its got enough bite for me.
With the flywheels, just get the TODA!

I got the Exedy organic and the TODA fly, shudders when colder i reckon, but nothing a fraction more rpm can't fix.
ALL WITCHES' HATS MUST DIE!!!!!

man.exe i think i got the same combo as you.
its a well priced combo and i think gripforce clutches is the username or business name of the ebay seller.
well worth a look

The Toda flywheel does not create any whine noise whatsoever.

Yup as kousoku has mentioned, it was a good reputable seller in ebay. A few OH members purchased it from there.
For mine it was the OEM spec exedy replacement because I do a lot of city driving and I'm a wuss with heavy clutches. You can probably get a sports organic for a bit more $$.
And yes I'm very happy with the mod, car revs faster (and drops faster!) and it was the same price as OEM replacement.
