    Euro rear pad replacement

Does anyone have any experience with replacing the rear brake pads on the Euro. My car is having a 60k service today & the dealer just rang & said they will change them for $250.00??#$%%^$####????

Are they any harder on the Euro than any other car????

Any tips would be gratefully recieved.

    Question

Southside Honda want $250.00. I can get the genuine pads for $144.00 & fit them myself. Is anyone aware of any tricks in fitting them or are they straight forward??

Here's the service bulletin on changing the rear pads. Remember to apply the anti-sieze grease!

Eurotony: is $250 including machining of the discs? or for rear brake pads replacement only?

Eurotony - that's about the right price. Just had my rears done on my Euro and it was $240 done with Honda. No machining of the discs.

Definately exxy but seeing as i'm selling the car soon, I wanted Honda to do it so it'll "look" better with the service history.

No I don't believe that the price included the machining of the disc's. I have sourced genuine pads for $122.00 & will replace them myself with the help of aaronngs service bulletins. I have been working on cars & 4wd's for years, so changing brake pads is not that hard.
As far as keeping the service history current, as long as the service book is stamped at the correct service intervals, having your pads replaced by the dealer at the service will not really make any difference at trade in time other than knowing that you have not had a back yarder working on your car.
At least doing it yourself (providing that you don't take short cuts) you will know that the job has been done properly. In reality, how do you really know the the first year apprentice has done your sump plug up properly at your dealer service???
