    Amps & Volts

hi guys just wondering which is more useful, a volts or amps gauge, do they read the same thing? and is it true u will have to wire all electricals through a ammeter if you use a amp gauge as opposed to just wiring the volts gauge parallel?

any help would be great thanx

Volt guage would be more usefull to use. As you can see the status of your battery.

An Amp guage would be cool too, as it shows how much current you car and equipement is drawing.

Current flowing (amp guage) is dependant of all the gear you are running and yes, every thing must go though it, ie in 'series' your return coming back to the battery, earth lead from chassis to -ve terminal.

Voltage is different however as you will always measure the same voltage with indivudual equipment, ie In 'parallel' it does not have to be in line with everything.
