    Dc2 Id?

    bonjour
    noob le'noob here
    dont shoot,its my first day!
anyway, got one for all you tegxperts out there in 'B18c'land
    found these set of organs,

from a recently deceased JDM carcass bearing these toe tags,

and upon closer inspection found the brains,

branded 37820-P72 -0038000(read to me over the phone so cant be sure)
my quessy is,i read somewhere else that P72 is yank GSR and P72J is JDM(i asked 3 times was there a "J").
also couldnt find anything on SiVTEC(see toe tags). Can anyone verify these ID's?It is OBD1 isnt it?
My main concern is,can anyone tell me what type of brain surgery has been done to the ECU(ie insulation tape),has it been piggybacked or something?
Better pics in members gallery(sorry bout the quality my hands were shaking with lust)
    BTW extensive forum,most impressed!

i think it is OBD1 as i can see a VTEC oil pressure switch

and yes - it has been hacked, but as far as i can tell they are VAFC wires that have been touched...

that engine is a JDM engine as it is stamped B18C

    hope this helps...

Still cant find anything on JDM DC2 Si vs SiR,my above plate says SiVTEC if you cant see it
Just read other engine # thread,it only mentions SiR.
    Which one is it?
Starting to worry this is a transplant halfcut(which might explain all the joins in the ECU).
Still got time to bail, only have deposit down. Please help...........

it is a B18C, what is it that you are actually worried about?

Ta again Tinker, the link eased my mind. Was concerned twas a transplant from non vtec & once i cracked it open i was gonna find a whole lot of wire splicing & the like, non standard axles, mounts, brackets, etc.
Realise i got a wiring headache ahead already(CRX OBD0>1),wallet already redlining,if i push it any harder its gonna blow!
Still concerned over P72 ECU not being a P72J,still cant clarify this(unless someone can tell me its not this that makes the US version slower)?
BTW got a better pic of ECU tails(black tape only wires spliced)
damned if i know how to makes this bigger(see gallery)
Anyway good news is CRX meets B18C starting Monday
Had to purchase today as B18's are hard to get if your not in the know.
Oh,one more thing, does anyone know how to specify bushing stiffness on hasport mounts from full-race or do i have to phone them?
