    Honda Engine Number Codes

    Hey guys,

i know very well this question has probably been covered but cant seem to bring up any search results.

Now being a nissan fan on nissansilvia.com i know all the engine codes of all nissan cars. i.e SR20. im now moving onto hondas as im looking at getting an EG hatch. im interested in doing an engine conversion but instead of asking you guys "what engine swap should i do" id better find out what engines are avaliable. i know there are B series and D series engines i.e D16 and B16. i presume the 16 means 1.6 litre but what i need to know is what do the ltters stand for i.e B16A B16B etc. Basically im looking for a run down of all honda engines and what there codes stand for, please help me out

    thanks guys

From a d series engine? If so, you need to change over the engine mounts.
See a good post? Give it a PQ point.

well im looking at getting an EG civic (dont have it yet) but dont even know what motors they come with. my plans were to get a base model EG (cheapest) get some coilovers, DBA brakes, sway bars and some decent wheels with sticky rubber. Then get a conversion done. I'll be using the car for track days/daily/hills driving and want an engine thats got atleast 1.6 displacement, EFi, twin cam, vtec and ofcourse decent power output (around 100kw-120 maybe) AT THE WHEELS though. i wouldnt be to fussed if i had just under 100. Also keep in mind once i have the motor in i wouldnt go crazy with mods, prob just exhaust, extractors and better intake.
