they are pretty good i got them on atm on 205/50R15, but i prefer my old Michelin PP2's .. between the 2, the PP2s had noticeably better steering response (mayb stiffer sidewalls?) and the PP2s were very predictable. I tried this after i got my Re001 on the same street with the same lil island things goin left then right, and the Re001s i havta give it a lil bit more time bfore itll turn bak right, i remember when i got my PP2s the steering was much stiffer (compared to my stock tyres n rims) etc and wid my Re001s now it feels like im on stock size tyres like 195... other then that, it sticks on the road nicely even in the wet it aint bad (probs better in the wet then my PP2s were).

The Re001s very good bang for buck, i got mine for 180per corner which is very expensive alredy (cbf finding) My previous PP2s were 220 per corner.

    Any comments?
No way RE001 is better than RE070. RE070 is a street tyre with a semi compound. RE070 is a step above RE01R, which is in turn 1 or 2 steps above RE001, depending on how you view the RE050A.

Bridgestone Potenza RE001 in 195/50/R15. Best bang for your money at around $120 each.

I've tested the RE001 at Oran Park and Eastern Creek Raceway. Both wet and dry track. This is my review of them:

Dry braking: 9/10 Very confident. Excellent.

Wet braking: 6/10 Late braking not recommended.

Dry cornering: 8/10 Very good for street tyre. Progressive breakaway.

Wet cornering: 7/10 Good grip. But breakaway is sudden and the tyre will slide 1 metre or more before regaining grip.

Feedback: 6/10 Average communication. Difficult to read when the limit is approaching in the wet or dry. In the dry, its OK because the tyre is progressive. But in the wet, difficult to drive fast.

Summary: A tyre with good grip and value for money. But 'not' so fun to drive on, due to lack of feedback to the driver.

Depends on the car's suspension setup too. In the wet, I can make the car reach the limit of lateral grip, have it break away and slide, and then let it regain or slide more by using throttle control. Very nice compared to the previous Dunlop 2050m which wouldn't regain grip at all and wasn't progressive.

how much more do RE070 costs compared to the RE001 roughly? Reckon its worth the extra over RE001 for street use only?

i can get RE001 at $219 per corner fitted and balanced for 215/40/17. From reading around, that is damn cheap and i think i might go for it. plus balance lol.

In 215/40 R17, I am guessing at least $350, IF you can find it in that size.

Ahh, then you shouldn't know the price since they come stock on your Euro if you have an 05-08 Luxury model.
