cvt fluid change at 5k, necessary?

    Hey guys,

my friend had a flat battery last Sat and after calling Honda roadside assistance, she was told to bring the car to the dealer for a cvt reset. In the end the dealer gave her a bill for changing the cvt fluid (labor + oil) which they said was necessary at 5k km.

Is this really necessary as the car has only done 5k? I was thinking more of the dealer refuse to reset the cvt for free as a gesture of good will and have to charge something in return.

when the a car with a CVT transmission has a flat battery or is replaced, the CVT needs reseting. I've never heard ofr a change at 5K km..sounds like bs.

does the car have warrenty? battery does have warrenty?

if so, no charge at all should be made.

Change at 5K?? You kidding me?? Ask the dealer to show him/her where in the service schedule manual states that? What a rip off..

Make sure the dealer didn't charge you for headlight fluid and elbow grease.

    Time to find another dealer.

    It's Robert Lane in Brighton.
I think it's more of taking advantage of a female customer who doesn't know anything about car. The worst will be it's just a bill and nothing has been done to the car at all!!!
Anyway, I got her to write to Honda Australia and see what their explanation will be.
