    A few things:

    1. I wouldnt email - rather call
    2. Check with your local state authority as this information changes between states.
See a good post? Give it a PQ point.

I have the same problem with my 96 honda civic.
I also rang and they said that a driver under 21 years (like me) is only allowed to have a maximum of 1 modification. Which for me is my catback. So the only way i can get 17's is to not tell them about it, but then i wouldnt be insured. I think also that 15's count as an accessory so they are allowed.

    Hope that helps

p.s im changing insurance company when the year is up, so i can get 17's.

    Hey fellas,

yeh, AAMI allows up to a combo of 3 mods/accessories, mods are things like your exhaust and that and accessories are usually your cosmetic things like kits.... this is as far as i know i stopped working there 6 months ago.

With the wheels, there are, or were no rules in terms of size, when my team used to come to me asking about these issues, my answer was as long as it legal, and it wasnt found to be a contributing factor in an accident you'll be fine.

Check your PDS doesnt say anyhting about not being covered for 17's... the legalities will be covered in the roadworthy rules in your given state

Stock sized rims return the best acceleration! Go the 14s! Become the anti-rice!

Different insurance companies will insure different things....... as long as theyre legal. Some companies wont even insure some legal things.

The law is different for every state. In NSW, its fine to go up in wheels size as long as the ROLLING DIAMETER (ie the wheel AND tyre diameter) do not change by more than 2 inches. In other words, you can go 17s, as long as you get lower profile tyres.

Also note that this law holds, but if the wheels touch any part of the body of your car, it is illegal and defectable.
...... and that's all I have to say about that.

There is no actual law regarding how big you can go with rim size, unless you were putting 20" or higher on...

Insurance is a different ball game.

Sucks to be in NSW, even if we have it in VIC they don't enforce it anymore.
