The cutoff is good.. i'll try to take a picture and post sometime soon.

Worth noting is that the NZ and Malaysian Sport equivelant has HID lighting as standard! ie: The headlight housing is designed to accept Xenon lighting

Check the pics below, youll see that its not glary at all and assuming you keep to the 4300k type bulbs itll look factory.

The only things at the moment are the foglights and dark window tint.

    Things I have planned are:
    1) 18" HP mesh wheels in shadow chrome
    2) 1" ~ 1.5" lowering with springs
    3) Mugen air filter when it becomes available
    4) Mugen exhaust when it becomes available
    5) Mugen Kit depending on finances

Its a damn shame there arent many mods available for our cars yet...

How much did the HIDs cost?
Haven't had a chance to look, do Civics use projectors or reflectors?

when i look at the headlight assembly it seems to be a reflector... actually pretty confident it is a reflector...

The unit is a reflector type but trust me its not glarey at all... the Japan made model that NZ and Malaysia gets comes with Xenon lights (in the same housing) as standard equipement.

the kit i got was from Xenondepot. goto the 8th gen civic site and lookup the link to the special they currently have.. i think its something like $360usd and this is for a Phillips kit with the new Gen 4 Ballast that is very thin and tiny!

ah yes, well done. Thats the key to it all, having the right hardware in the first place for the HID's to work well.

Got the kit online in the US. approx $430Aud shipped.

It adds mid range mostly and retains that original factory look - so if you after sub bass sound then your best going else where...

You get a small amplifier that lets you adjust for gain and cutoff as well as two replacement speakers for the rear deck.

Check the pics in my other post on the bass works kit.

Xenondepot kit is very reliable and the results are very good

in regard to the headlight housing...being a reflector doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be glary...on the other hand, it can be glary too. Just depends how you install your HID and which kit you use.

JDM DC5R also has HID as standard in a reflector housing, but there are people in the USA that has done a projector housing conversion with HID...and the differenece is HUGE!
