    Rota's

This seems to be a common theme with Rota's, thought people should be warned when buying knockoffs.

[Quote]Was doing 75 (100km/hr) on freeway, hit a bump, wheel gave out, sent his car into a slide, hit guardrail, slid the other way, stopped in the middle of traffic, almost got T-boned.[Quote]

refer to below post for what really happened

that is not an accurate description of what occured...

the rear tyre blew out, causing the car to hit the guard rail, that wheel first, at 75 mph. The damage to the wheel was the result of the car hitting the guard rail, not the cause.

    this one was the cause

from what i had read, i thought the car had hit a bump which broke the front wheel.

Saxman is that your car ?

not my car... belongs to someone on another forum I'm on... there wasn't a bump as far as I'm aware... the rear suddenly lost control, with all signs pointing towards the rear tire blow out, which caused the car to go into the wall.

Dreadangel with any rim you have to be careful.

In my personal opinion I dont think the rota slipstream is going to be as strong as the forged authentic ones.

Just dont use them for racing.

isn't this pretty obvious? as in normal/knockoff rims aren't and will not be as good as their real forged counter parts? you can't expect it...

there can be thousands of reasons that a wheel can give out, including hitting a wall! and it doesn't necessarily mean cos it's a knockoff. these rims probably go through testing and have to pass certain safety standards before being sold and imported worldwide.
