DIY: S2k Striker Swap (gets rid of roof noise at speed)

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

Basically after a while in the S2k im sure many of you owners have realised that the roof makes a fair bit of wind noise after a while, more so if your car has been driven more. So what some people devised was an idea to swap the strikers around so that the roof will lock like it did on the showroom floor.

I had a bit of wind noise from 80km/h+ so i just changed it over, its really easy and all you need is a flat head screw driver and a phillips head screw driver. Here's some pics for those of you that are interested in doing the swap

just insert a flat head screw drive here, there's 2 slots and the light cover just pops out.

after you do that your left with 2 gold screws, just take those off and leave the light assembly for the moment.

next step is to take off the visors, it's just one screw for each of them. nice and simple.

a close up of the screws, I just used a flat head screw driver, but make sure its big enough to cover both ends of the screw so you dont thread the head of the screw.

Once the visors are out, take off the A-pillars, once again its just one clip for each one, and the clips are where i circled it in red. you can use your fingers to remove this.

then remove the top piece, its 2 clips towards the center of the top piece. i just ran my fingers along from each side and popped them out.

(The strikers themselves are held in by 2 screws its a basic swap from left to right)
here's a pic of my worn striker, im sure you all know by now, basically your swapping them so it wears on the opposite side.

Good luck and safe "quiet" driving! haha
