    b16a eating petrol and lagging

I have a XSI with b16a and for some reason i think the petrol consumption is fairly high for what it is. The car is auto and also the car does lag or lack power on acceleration.
what could it be? dirty injectors?
    Any advice would be appreciated

it's an auto matched with a lil 1.6l? lol, i ain't dissin ya, just auto's on small motors tend to be sluggish, and auto's do consume more petrol.
you can try the usual maintenace, change fuel filter, plugs, filter.

you can try some injector cleaner, but it won't work as well, unless you bring it to a place that specialiases in cleaning injectors, which means taking em out.
you can also adjust tappets, that may help a little, check timing.

well you can call up some mechanic places and ask them where they get em cleaned,
i'm sure you know of mekong spares in canley vale? they send it out for you, comes back the same day. not quite sure of the cost though, if you use clean fuel all the time, most of the time you won't need them to be cleaned.

and plus check your ECU for codes, you never know, a sensor maybe screwed, and causing this problem.

Got the same problem. Very laggy in a sense but mine is the JDM manual B16A2. Everything else is done - tappets, timing, filter, oil, full major service and still lags. Injectors would be the only thing I havent done.

But its slow revving. Engine codes - haha dont show up - need to check the wiring of it behind the dash. Used to pull hard now it drives strange. Could it be the exhaust or headers?
