Jenson Button refused to blame traffic after beating only a couple of Super Aguris and an MF1 in qualifying for the French grand prix on Saturday.
The Briton got held up in traffic, and was notably baulked by Michael Schumacher, but 26-year-old Button had to admit that the 'basic problem' is Honda's revised F1 racer.
'The car isn't quick enough,' he said. 'You are pushing your hardest but you just can't get the lap time.'
Even without traffic, Button said the maximum he could have expected from qualifying was sixteenth. Teammate Rubens Barrichello qualified fourteenth and moves up a spot through Nico Rosberg's engine penalty.
JB continued: 'I don't want to finish out of the points but that is what it is.
'It's going to be like a practice session for me.'
