    Speedo @ Zero

    as most of u know... a mate of mine is doing a conversion on EK with a b16a2... and its almost completed..

    but somehow the speedo is staying at zero.. but all the other things work .. like fuel ... rev... all that... any idea?? and vtec also doesnt engage as well...

    VSS???

    is it plugged in.. check the conneciton to the sensor first..

    then ECU then VSS

    it should also throw a VSS service light.

    If it is plugged in,check u got 12V(ign on) across the black & black/yellow?(your black/yellow might be diff colour but the black should be the same).

    The 3rd wire check if its continuous back to the speedo & ecu
    C18 OBD2A
    C23 OBD2B

    And yes no VTEC till VSS input above 30kph

    doesnt vss run a 5v ref,

    and signal 0v ---> 5v ---> 0v ---->5v as the wheels turn.

    Nick check the ECU as people have mentioned to you here

    Fairly sure they are all 12v,I know my B18c is & the B16a1 is.

    B18c- 0V>10V>0V>10V......
    B16a1- 0V>5V>0V>5V.........

    ytea i ll check ecu tmr...

    another thing start the car drives noraml after 5 min engine ligth came on ... turn off the car... then strat again ... no engine light then drive for a bit more comes on again ...

    its driving me nuts

    remember to say what ECU you are running
    Check ECU as i tried to show u tonight lol or checkl that the VSS is connected and compatible...

    ok ... problem fixed.... there was some coolant in the sensor plug... dunno how it got there...

    speedo is workign no enigne light...

    but idle is high aorund 1.3k and no vtec...

    and hints?

    meh i ask stupid question. of course you let the car warm up.

    maybe your oil pressure wont let vtec engage?
