Thread: Auto ECU

    Hey guys,

    I was wondering if I had a 5speed gearbox, running the H22, if I used the Auto ECU would it run for now? just for temporary untill I order in my aftermarket ECU.

    Help apreciated.

    no it wont work. totally different computers from auto to man. U'll have to get a p13 from a prelude vtir or rechipped p28 of some sort.

    i thought they are the same b/c auto uses seprate comp for tranny. wrong?

    you are right rob3369, the accords and preludes use a seperate ecu for the auto.

    As far as i know, to use the auto ECU as a manual one you remove the little capacitor or whatever it is on RP11 on the board. I havent actually done this though, so i'm not 100% sure it'll work.

    Otherwise i think it may have some idle issues. Should still work anyway

    It wont work, you have to convert your PGMFI ECU from Auto to Manual then have a manual rom in it or your will get codes like


    19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
    30 Automatic transmission A signal
    31 Automatic transmission B signal

    and yes there is a seperate ECU for the Auto tranny

    Hi guys.

    Thanks alot for the info.

    I think i'm going to buy a microtech ECU. saves me the hassle of buying and ECU and then haveing to throw it away.
