Iv'e been looking into crower cams the past few weeks as a method to extract more power from my D16y8. My problem is that ther cams come in 4 forms.

Stock replacement: slighly better than stock
    Stage 1 : More agressive
    Stage 2 : street/strip
    Stage 3 : race only :P

My question is what is the most agressive camshaft i could put on without sacrificing drivablity while extracting most power. eg I don't want to be driving around down when my car involintarily self implodes on itself causing a black hole to form.

you are the only one that can make the decision. Its sounds like you are choosing between stages 1 and 2. Stage 2 you will probably notice a drop in power lower in the rev range, but you should have bigger gains than stage 1 up high.

...so its your call....your the one that has to drive it everyday...

meh, sif not go stage stupidity! lolz

in all seriousness, u can just dump abit more fuel at idle so it can idle really ruff, but sound awesome!

stage 2 is ideal with street/strip setup. Some of the crowers have modified idle lobe to idle like stock anyway

With the more aggressive cam, you'll need to get better valve springs as stocky springs will not handle the bigger motions. This is of course for the more wilder cam.

You can go even further get the stage 2 or 3 cam, springs, and an adjustable cam gear to really get things going.

It might not be for your engine but might give you some in depth tech specs of most cams.

we use Crower cams in most of our turbo and NA cars, they work really well.. we have found that the stage 2 street/race cam needs more comp to work to it's peak performance in a B16A or B18C..
