yeh I think it woul dbe b16 with red cover. Looks just like my motor but i've got a black rocker cover.

I've seen some sportivo's in action and I'm not that impressed. Lift only kicks in for a short time and its hardly usable.

    VTEC engine in there tho and you'll have xtra-lift - VVTI-XL :P

    Huh? It's the same as in a b18c. 6000 to 8200rpm.

The only difference is that below 6000rpm, the b18c is much stronger.

Nah nah you 'somewhat' have a point, but the thing is like I stated before, if you know how to use the powerband given then the sportivo is a quick little b@stard. There are a LOT of people who own them and don't really know how to shift or drive them properly because it's a lot harder for them than any other car they've driven. I've also got a restored 1977 escort with a fairly horny motor/gearbox etc etc. I learnt in that thing rofl. Was so hard to drive (pushing the clutch in was OMGGGG heavy), so I guess really giving it to the sportivo wasn't too much of a hassle for me, although it did shyte me before I adjusted the clutch. Test drove the Type S btw. Seamless, requires bugger all effort woowwww .

Oh yeah, barefootbonzai, not too sure what this chap is up too. He's a bit of a stirrer sometimes (he's the quickest n/a sportivo on there w. 14.46 over the 1/4 too) so it 'could' be a trick haha. I've spoken to him before though, really nice guy. Doesn't have his head up his a55 like other people.

ehhehe kool kool. I like sportivo's anyways, my mate has one. And yeah, all you guys paying them out, they are quite quick. Pics of my mates ones is in the pics i posted up in the apperance gallery.

His car would beat any EK4 and on pair with DC2R's rollin. (they a bit slow off the line)

I'm not saying they're totally useless. I've known a few people with these cars and they do go quite well....i guess i was just expecting more.

I was expecting more in terms of drivability too man, trust me. All that is ironed out now though. Still have an itching to do something big with another car later on, but want practicality too. I've been looking at AE86 Corolla's, and even doing a project on an R32, but I'm pretty found of the N/A scene now. An AE86 or a little EG hatch civic with a hot B18 or B16 in it is starting to appeal to me. They're sexy little things those EG's (and EK's).

That hasn't been done yet due to the fact all the 2zz's are still in celica's or corollas haha. I think they are still very $$$ too. I know that a crate 2zz-ge motor from Japan is $10,000AU.

Although it could be being done as we speak? Who know's *spooky music*

what gets me is why toyota didn't put the 2zz in the mr2 spyder.
don't get me wrong i'm a massive fan of Honda but that would have been a great track/drag contender against tegs

mate was his an aftermarket item? coz i know toyota recalled them and replaced ecu/clutch/tranny oil but it was still kinda there but not as bad. would love to tell my mate how your mate eliminated it.

doubt anyone would bother putting 2zz in the old generation rollas, they are just not sporty looking enuff and get dated badly
