Thumbs up DIY - Breaker Bar Storage

I have created this thread to show one way of storing tools in the boot of your car, without them rattling, becoming unsecure and damaging your car or your passengers. For this task i am securing my breaker bar to remove wheels and tight bolts/nuts. I am placing it in an unused and discrete place so i dont have to look at it, dont have to worry about it getting away, and because the space is there.

    Tools and Equipment needed:
    - Foam
    - Car with storage space
    - Sharp knife

Here is a pic of the location. Its always about location location!!
    Attachment 2412

First take a piece of foam like this one.
    Attachment 2411

Make sure your tool is not too long!!
    Attachment 2413

Get out your cutting tool, i use one like this
    Attachment 2414

Cut a line into the foam about the length of the tool you wish to place inside. Dont worry too much about the width, the foam is very permiable
    Attachment 2415

Now that your hole is now chopped, jam your tool in the hole. Should be nice and tight.
    Attachment 2416

Its tight when it looks like this!
    Attachment 2417

Now its tight in there, jam the whole lot into the desired space.
    Attachment 2418

    Happy DIY'S

what kinda tools u use that rust?

and besides... if you have water in you spare wheel well.. i think you may have other concerns over the rusty breaker bar

All tools will rust. Even stainless steel can rust. ITs the chip marks and scratches on tools you have to watch out for ~

    Still , a good idea.

Most good tools are chrome vanadium steel. A bit more difficult to get to rust unless you spill lemon juice on it (which is so corrosive when left overnight that it rusted my molybdenum steel knife!)
