    Forced Dc2

hey guys, quick question and opinion.

im tossing about having to turbo my dc2 vtir, is it a waste of money?
personally money doesnt bother me. if you guys had the chance would you do it?

waste as in having a car way more powerful than pretty much n/a tuned b18 out there?

waste as in making the vehicle drive in such a way that every time you get in it, you can't keep your foot off the gas?

waste as in making the car actually not slow?

waste as in seeing what happens when you actually have some torque?

It IS a waste of money...

Modding cars are a waste of money!

Cars a depreciating objects in our lives, we'll never get the money back...or if you do, its quite rare.

It all depends on how much YOU want it.

I did it, not VTEC but ey, results = AWESOME

If you're going to keep the car.
You have a power target in mind & you are going to use the car for good rather than evil.
    Sure, why not.
Just be sure to shop around & be very cautious. Don't rush in to get it done.
Use the best components you can afford & make the job as comprehensive as possible.
That is, cover all bases. 1st base is thermal management if you want the thing to last.
Once it's completed, the tuning will make or break it.
They can be the most hilariously fast things imaginable or an absolute pile of crap. Shop wisely & good luck.

yeah.. ill be keeping the car for a while and im sick of my dull vtec sound. i used to have a type r and a vtir is much slower.. compared to my modded old dc2r. so i need power.. if i get 180kw atw ill be happy there.

mate if you dont reach 180kw on a turbo setup give yourself an uppercut for the parts you selected! lol
my advice eith go with a set up that you know will make power.... and get as much professional advice as possible such as above ..... whist sticking to a budget.

if you like the idea of having ur 180wheel kw dc2 beaten by another dc2 with 135whkw NA power on street tyres at the drags, then go for it...

nah wasn't refering to blackdc2, his time of 12.7 was achieved on slicks anyway. Just from all the time slips I see around ppl, you rarely see good times achieved on turbo fwd cars on full street tyres, at least their times don’t justify the amount of power they have.

And to be fair, I don't doubt that these turbos would beat na on rolling starts or in gear take overs...
