CRX rim Size

if i get 17" rims. will i get any inner rub etc?
or would 16" be more suitable?
help please...

gday mate
i had 17s on my civic, as these cars are very similar i should be able to relate, and yes i did get some scrubbing on full locks, but all depends on type width and profile. depends what your aiming for as well with the rims, if your after looks, id say 17s, if your more after perforamce and a bit of looks id say 16s... just my opinion .. good luck

thanks man, MOD PLEASE CLOSE.

yeah i got 17's on my crx and its lowered and it rubbs...
-
my 16x7's rub on one side
but i fixed it by raising the car a lil

legal issues? what's stock diameter of a 14" rim+tyre?
-
my stock diameter size (195/60/14) is 589.6mm
after putting 17's (205/40/17) in, it became 595.8mm
so ~6mm difference, which causes about ~1% change in speed..

6mm is still within legal confrins isn't it?

185/60/14 is the sticker size of stock crx wheels.577.6mm diameter
I got 205/40/17 on now 596.5mm,which is about 18mm bigger than stock diameter
Legal is 15mm bigger than stock diameter of largest optional wheel provided by manufacturer for the series of car (I dont know whether that means if Honda offered an optional alloy wheel at the time u could use that size, does anyone know if they did & what size they were?),so they are 3mm over.u could get away with 205/35/17, at 575mm.
At the end of the day all this is pointless cos your only allowed a 26mm increase in rim width on the front wheels of a FF vehicle.
Stock crx is 5"(unless another optional wheel was offered like I queried above)
So 6" is the max, hard to find 17" x 6" wheels or ive never seen any.
All above is RTA for NSW.
EDIT: i personally will be goin back to 16" when money allows,I found them much more appropriate.
EDIT 2: just found that EF8's came as 195/60/14,wonder if u could argue that to em.

its not so much the rolling diameter that is LEGAL or ILLEGAL.
Its the rim SIZE. Traffic departments allow an increase in 'wheel' diameter of maximum 2 sizes eg; original 14inch - allowed 16inch; original 15 inch - allowed 17inch.
Ive got 17s on my CRX and no rubbing issues what so ever. Even of full lock I don't get anything. I did get inside FW rub on full lock when i pre-fitted 18s - and hence decided to stick with 17s.

I dont know about Perth, but NSW & VIC are all about overall rolling diameter, rim width & also wheel track(which i forgot to mention above,+ 25mm allowed),nothing to do with rim diameter.
I shouldnt imagine other states to be much different,as the overall rolling diameter & combination of rim width/offset is what determines the loadings on the suspension components.
My reply was for Bayani who has a NSW location in any case.

Thanks CRXer, basically wha I was after ^^ -- Do you have references for this?
Sinister, not having the rolling diamter is odd; because you can still adapt your tyre profile to match your previous wheel diameter.
the 2in rule is a general guide for officers when writing up a ticket; what I want to find out is the more technical information that will allow 17's; as at the moment, that's what I have on my car; when money allows, i'll alkso be going down to 16's.
But in th meantime, I want the car streel legal; perfectly.
