Its now possible to push 1 bar (and more) on your D16 block safely without having to purchase forged rods and pistons!

With a blockguard, lowered compression ratio, and a standalone ECU,you will be able to boost at 1 bar (14.7psi) on your engine daily.. and 1.3 bar (that's 18psi!) at the quatermile track..

The list is as follows:

B16A rods, 2nd hand, good condition

B16A bearings, new

Toyota 1G-GTE pistons, 2nd hand and in good condition

Toyota 1G-GTE piston rings pack, brand new

Machine work for modification of connecting rods in order to be compatible with the Toyota pistons

Me and many of my friends have used this combo sucessfully on D16Y8 engines (1.6l SOHC VTEC). Please check piston and rod specs of your engine with that of the D16Y8 engine to see whether it will work for you or not.

The pistons and rings must be bought in packs of 6, as that's how I get them (don't forget the 1G-GTE is a 6 cylinder twin-turbo supra engine, with pistons that coincedently have the same diameter as our 75mm D16 engines ) Having 2 spare pistons and rings is handy just incase you happen to break something

Installation is as simple as replacing your pistons and rods. The Crankshaft needs no modification, although the bottom of the shortblock will need to be shaved a little so that there is enough clearance for the beefy B16A rods
