    Differences b/w recaro sr2 and sr3?

    Hi there!

I recently bought a recaro seat and I'm not sure whether it is an sr2 and sr3. I'm looking for rails for it atm but as it's second hand, there is no serial number! I'm pretty sure that it's a genuine.

I've been told bride rails fit, but do sr2 and sr3 use the same bolt pattern? I asked a seller and he said I'd need to give him the serial number in order to get the seat. I'm ****ed!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll post up some pictures soon.

i just got a set of recaros last friday.
and i called up recaro and placed an order for the rails.. u dont want to go for after market ones.
i now have to send them back coz they gave me the racing ones not that standard ones.

the racing ones a really good but its to low and it feels like your sitting on the ground. and im a tall guy..

    they cost about 300 each..
buts its something worth looking into

coz its nice knowing that ur not going to be flying out the window with a recaro strapped to u ass when u stop hard

The difficult part with the rails is not so much the side that bolts onto the seat because, as tripitaka said, all recaros have the same bolt pattern, its more the side that bolts onto the car.

My recaros (bought 2nd hand) came with bride superlow rails specifically to fit the EK civic. Depending on what car you have you can try to use oem ones as they require no custom fabrication. However, I found that EK9 rails are hard to come by. Most oem recaros seem to come from integras which is fine if you're trying to fit into EG civics in a lot of cases. You can get them custom fabricated but you may run into issues with defects as they are not approved by relevant authorities. It is possible to get engineering approval for custom fabricated rails though.

marabaan, either you go flying out the window or you'll be stuck between the dash and your recaro!
