+48 offset ok???

Hey guys. I'm interested in a set of rims that are for sale for my DC2 VTIR, however, the offset is a +48. Im just wondering if this application would be suitable, as standard is about +43, and would this have any affect on my cars ride, handling etc.

lets assume heez running 17x7 on 205/45

then an increas from 43 to 48 is fine

ur weels will stick out a little bit more thats all

but if ur gettin bigger rims it starts to get more complicated

if ur goin for 18z or 19z, ull need wider tyres, and then even a slight difference in offset MAY produce scraping and rubbing wen u turn or go over bumps

but plz provide more info

Hypothetically speaking,

+48, on same width would mean your wheel will sit 5mm closer to your inner guards. If you get wider wheels, then your wheels will sit even more further in. If you lower, then camber will make your wheels sit even MORE further in. I suggest you stick to anything around +35 to +43.

higher offset means it sits futher in, not out

to high an offset may even scrape the calipers.

The rim size will be 16x7, running 205's. Yea im just mainly worried about scraping the guards. Anyone else have anymore input or experiences??

Well, going from 15x6 +43 to 16x7 +48 will mean that your rims will stick out 8mm more and the clearance between the rim and strut will be less by 18mm.

I can make a guess on tyre clearance. Going from 195 to 205 tyres, the distance from the tyre to the guard will be the same as before, but the distance between the tyre and the strut will be 10mm less.
