iPod in a DC2R

Hey guys,

Wondering if you could help.

Thinking about getting an Apple iPod for the car, only problem is how do I connect it to the factory HU?

Does the HU have an RCA input plug hole or something, or do I need to get a fancy gadget to connect the iPod to the stacker changer input on the HU?

Any advice would be much appreciated, a last resort would be to use a tape deck adapter, but I will lose sound quality

Most HUs with RCA inputs require a boosted input signal - so plainly using your iPod as the source probably won't work. However, I know Apple sells iTrip(??) that you use with iPod and it sends a short FM broadcast signal and you can tune in with your radio to iPod tunes?

It's a little bit neater than cassette adapters and it's a pretty cool idea...

hey dude dont get a fm transmitter
all u need is an auxillary input cable to plug from ur ipod to aux in
and u have cd quality sound...

the fm transmitters are not that great quality....u should be able to get a cable that can convert/piggyback of ur aux or cd changer input. i know u can get those for the euros. depending on which hu u have, some companies are releasing units which allows u to control the ipod from the steering wheel and the head unit

Yeh i-trip isn't very clear... it lacks the bass also.

i'd be very supprised if there is an aux in on the stock head, and if there is a adapter to use the changer plug as aux it would be pretty difficult to come accross. Hard wired fm modulators aren't anywhere near as bad as some people seem to think.
