    Hey guys!
just needed some advices on which engine swaps I should go for and the prices for them(labour+engine), I'm in the Melbourne area so any good adresses of mechanics for the job is appreciated.
I'm actually looking for something different than the B16A which pretty much everyone swap their engine for, cos I know, it's cheap
So, my preferences are for the B16B and the B18C5 ( type R families )
oh and I forgot, I drive an EF honda civic 89
any comments and help is needed
    thx

b16b/b18c5 will be hard to find and even then will probably cost a bundle (correct me if im wrong).

    id go for K20 swap...

    would you?

    LOL i bloody wouldn't

Only good k20 is the a2 found in the dc5r. So your looking at 10K for a halfcut.

Then you have problems with the immobiliser.

Then you have to get custom mounts from america or make some of your own. Actually im not even sure any companys make mounts for the ef. Ohhwell can be like original k20 swapster. COOL!

Custom exhaust header, 1k sounds about right for a holden/ford tuner to make, that will perform like shit.

Then your going to have trouble going over speedbumps because the sump rests about 2inches off the ground. (forget lowering your car)

Trim some holes in your bonnet, wikid speed holes.

    custom shift linkage (cables)

running an obd2b ecu in an obd0 car, electrictics will be fun too.

Is the ef carby? lets just multiply the difficulty of the swap by about 3x.

    but you can say

    k20 y0.

    15grand in a 6grand car.

into a EF ( ED) possibly the easiest money/HP ratio is to grab a d16a8 or d16y8 ( Si and vti engines) and plonk it in - shouldnt be a problem wiring up - automatically coming with 130hp for the price of prob less than $1000 all up including labour etc !
