    blew white smoke after fill up the tank ?!?!?

    hi guys. just filled up a full tank, but when i started the car, heaps of white smoke came out from the exhaust.... i know white smoke means burning oil but the head and all gaskets are new ( installed few weeks ago )..... so i don't think the head gasket is gone .... does this happen to anyone b4 ?? any help will be appreciated ...

    my engine is a B16A btw ...

    it usually means water is getting into a broken gasket

    does the engine sound abnormal?? does the car rattle more than usual??? does the car lose speed/?? If so then i would agree with Claymore that u mightve poured diesel. The station u filled up at, is the diesel fuel section with all the unleaded/UP or by itself?

    Like Nikki said, white smoke means you are burning water (usually coolant). It could just be condensation built up in your exhaust when you stopped at petrol station. Start your car again, does it still blow white smoke?

    as above - is the "smoke" same as from the muffler on a cold morning ? IE dissipates quite quickly and white in colour ?

    the smoke smell like patrol ..... i am sure i filled it up with 98 vortex and not DIESEL !!!!!!! it only blew for like 30 sec and it's gone .... don't see any more smoke until now .... weird ass ... btw , the head and all gaskets are new ....

    perhaps there was some water in the tank and it burnt away in the engine.

    Of course it would smell like exhaust. Because most of it is exhaust gases!

    For everyones information
    (Smoke)

    White = Water/Coolent (Warped Head, headgasket gone, water in fuel tank)
    Grey = Oil (Bad piston rings, defective valve stem seals)
    Black = Fuel (Aka Running rich, sparkplugs not ignighting fuel)
