If you get an 99-01 model just make sure you factor in ~$1500 to replace clutch/machine flywheel (if not already done). Like just about every honda, if it's got a good history there shouldn't be any major worries.

yeah, I got my '01 late last year, low k's, just under 40k from a honda dealer with extended warranty and full service done. Only thing i need to do is plan to get a new roof, which i found out from this site topsonline.com have good ones which dont cost the earth and if you are game you can do the replacement for under 1000.

good luck lookin around, my opinion is make usre they have service book up to scratch, if buying private, get the thing looked through for any accidents etc..etc..get motor looked at too, high revving does pay a price if not looked after well....being manual, 100k mark is general for a clutch, but that also depends on how you drive too..!!
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

theres nothign wrong with 99' 00' models

only difference is that 99' 00' and 01' do not have glass window on rear

S2K AP1 all have clutch buxx and its normal with the OEM clutch and flywheel.

if you really dont like the small buzz, just get a new clutch and machine the flywheel and its gone.

IMO look for one obviously under 100,000kms

make sure service history is there, engine wise the car is quite reliable and no real issues other then clutch buzz.

mechanical wise just get the diff and gearbox checked out cause its known as the weakest point in the S2K.

i've only had mine for about 3 months, and the only problem so far was a dead battery this week. Its a 99 but with only 40,000klms, looks as new. I took it to get checked out a independent honda mechanic called HONDACARE up here in Brisbane.
