To get a N/A civic to run 11sec qtr mile you'll be looking at an extreme amount of cash... and you will have to rip everything out of your car to reduce as much weight as possible.

It's a lot harder then getting a 11sec turbo honda and the cost difference is huge.

All B series engine will swap straight into 96-00 civic's with only the rear engine mount needing to be changed.

If your planning to go N/A with the B18C conversion, get the ppl doing the work to stick your B16A head on the B18C block, it'll increase the compression abit and give you more power due to the better airflow of the B16A head. Try to find as many CTR head components as you can, CTR cams, CTR intake manifold, CTR headers and install them on the B18C.

if i spent 10 grand on my engine i would want it to eat type r's for dinner..
A type R conversion for 10grand is a heafty price tag.. but your paying for quality... the engine is like 5k+ as it is and would be dead reliable..
in my opinion with 10k... rebuild a b18c(Vtir) or b16a...get type R pistons (PR??) raise compression... port and polish..cams, valves springs, retainers, cam gears.. and maybe balanced crank..- should be like 7-8k.. i think... dont quote me..
my cars shit slow all i need is money..

The B18C is the better base to work with, as it's got more cc's. for $10k you would basically only get a type-r conversion as they-re bloody expensive.

You probably have enough money for a few extra components eg. I/H/E

for 10k turbo your existing engine then watch as your car blows away NA cars, so much that NA cars arent even worth dragging anymore.

    I agree with the above.
Sure NA is all good, but for those bucks, u can push some nice boost.

kinda difficult to understand your thread bro....
if you're refering to the type r civics, they have a B16B and have a 185hp engine....this engine has vey little similarilties over the B16A. here are all the differences between the b16B and b16a...
essentially the b16b is a "destroked" B18C engine..minus all the goodies on the head of course. so dont think you can swap a B16B head onto a B16A bloack...nope, much more to it then that....

Cylinder Head - Complete port & polish
    Exhaust Valve Spring - High-lift, dual-layered spring
    Sparkplug - High-heat-type #7 platinum plug
    Pistons - High-compression, low-friction, custom pistons
Connecting Rod - High-output, high-durability, lightened, custom conrod
    Engine Stiffener - Aluminum die-cast, high-durability, one-piece type
    Crankshaft - Full-balancer, 8-weight, high-output, custom crankshaft
Inlet Valves - Lightened inlet valves
    Inlet Valve Springs - High-lift, flat-surfaced, dual-layered spring
    Camshaft - Wide-angled, high-lift, high-durability camshaft
    Intake Manifold - High-RPM type.

get a 11sec NA honda means u need to have at least $10,000 TO COVER THE COSTS! and that doesnt even involve any possible engine conversions.....

An 11sec N/A Honda also means massive weight reduction. Guys in the States are stripping interiors, replacing glass with light-weight perspex, removing dashes, sometimes re-constructing from light-weight material etc.

This is why N/A gets very expensive if you want a fast N/A car...
