    DC5 engine - automatic

Im not too good with these codenames but what is the engine code for the Integra engine.

I was just wondering if there is much performance difference you get out of a Integra(not type R) from an automatic and a manual. Would the automatic actually feel relatively quick? (for a honda)

No matter what brand, the manual will always be much quicker than the auto, unless the car comes with a sequential manual like the DSG or Alfa's Selespeed.

small engines suck when mated with a regular auto. manual is much better.
the engine in the base dc5 is the K20A3 well the prefacelift one is, i think the facelifted one is still the same engine.

It has VTEC only on the intake cam. It's the equivalent engine to the Civic Sport.

The Type R engine has VTEC on both the intake and exhaust cam.

The difference is 118kW and 147kW.

I see. Wow I didnt think VTEC can exist in so many forms.

So basically, the Integra would feel very similar to drive to a Civic Sports??

yeah it would be similar to the sports civic -, similar power, similar chassis.

there may be some disreprancies due to being USDM but heres some performance notes:

the K20A3 auto is not a fast car.
1/4 mile is around 16.5s. A fairly good driver in a manual 1.5L Honda Jazz can do 16.5s 1/4mile pass.
I use to have an auto dc5, now i upgraded to the TypeS, huge difference.
the K20 in the Civic Sport is an updated version of the K20A3.
I don't think the Civic Sport is K20A3, think it's K20Z2 or something.

They are similar, but the K20Z2 gets an electronic throttle while the K20A3 has a cabled throttle.
