Unhappy Assistance Please..Flat spot / Cutting out

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has come across their S2K loosing power under throttle? Initially I found an intermittent flat spot under light throttle at around 2400 -2800 RPM. But it is more frequent now (nearly everyday) and I am finding the vehicle looses power under any load at any rev range when applying throttle.

To stop the engine stalling, I have to slip the clutch a little to bring the revs back up. It can happen at any time, e.g. ambient temp being cold, warm, day, night, flat ground, hilly etc...

The vehicle is stock; no modifications whatsoever. It has a full service history with Honda and I am using 98 RON fuel and have tried different fuel suppliers ..i.e., Shell to BP but it makes no difference. Battery voltage appears fine and engine temp is ok. There is no increase in fuel consumption either. I think it may either be fouled plugs or the fuel pump.

I am planning to get it sorted out soon but just wanted to check if any one has had this experience? Regardless, if you could share your thoughts I would be grateful.

U can do that, or u can first try a map whack. This usually solves %99 of problems like this. I also had an issue with flat spots. Its a common fault/charateristic of the F20

    Have a read.

I tried the 'Map whack' and ECU reset and so far so good.
