Get some Glass polisher and clean the windscreen
Get some Sonax Windscreen Washer Additive to put in the washer bottle.
Get some Graphite Powder and swipe some with a cloth over the wiper blade edge.

Just replace your wiper rubber with PIAA silicone refills. Then you won't need to do all that, except use the sonax windscreen washer additive.

^^ Haven't seen them in the shops. Try contacting places like R-sense.

I buy mine when I go overseas.

Edit: Oh snap, just realised that the original poster has an 06. The PIAA ones don't fit. I don't think they make one that fits the 06 yet.

Try wiping the blade edge with a piece of tissue wet with methylated spirits or rubbing alcohol.

You can never go wrong with PIAA wipers....

You can use 555 wipes to stop the blades from hardening as well...
