Has anyone tried to wash their engine before? Mine's pretty dusty and I'm tempted to hose it down...

Cover all electronics and trickle water to rinse off any degreaser/soap you may have used to loosen dirt

If its only dusts you could use a general purpose cleaner with rags and not hose it at all

I'm really liking the front ends of the hatches. I think they would great with the right wheels. The back end looks like 50/50 though IMO. I'm thinking of getting one.

Do it! There's one in the UK that UK honda/mugen did up and it looked pretty good

It might get a facelift next year when the Type R version comes out, although its apparently unlikely.

get a bmw 1serie

Best hatch in market atm,bigger engines and much better drive
