I got a Q for all you who have done a custom cat-back... not just FD1 specific I suppose:

The place I went to today to get info on a custom cat-back said the piping they'd use would be a quarter of an inch wider than stock. Now they said that any bigger there'd be issues with low end due to the backpressure being lessened. So you guys with the custom catbacks, did they use slightly bigger piping and did you notice any loss in the low end. It sounds like you're giving up torque in the low end for some more torque in the high end - which is useless on a daily driver.

So whats the go here, will a quarter inch larger piping make any difference in the low-end? Experiences?

i thought 2.25" was perfect for our car? Our stock i think is 1.6"-1.75" (confirm?). Raising it by 1/4 inch will just barely make 2". Maybe 2" is the way to go? Would like some confirmation too as im getting my muffler next week.

i think between 2 and 2.25 would be perfect, as it is perfect for most NA cars, more than 2.5 heads into the Forced induction range and K series boyz. its a honda, low end power is usually non existant, i think your wasting your time paying big bux, for a .25" increase in pipe size... i think mandrel bend 2.25" SS piping is your best bet, then if u lose low end or watever, upgrade your intake and it'll make up for the loss
