    [DIY] HID install for dc2r

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

Aim: to install HID kit on a dc2r

    Required
    - HID kit
    - Screw driver
    - Spanner

    Steps

    1. Bend the iron stand about 90 degree and screw on the ballast on the outside of the iron stand using a screw driver to twist the screw and a spanner to hold the nut.

    2. Open the hood and remove one of the chassis bolt by using a spanner on the passenger side and put the iron stand there and screw the chassis bolt back in with a spanner.

    3. Now on the driver side, screw the ballast on existing hole on the chassis which is just under the strut bar

    4. Put the bulb into the light slot and twist to fit tight. Then connect the cables from the ballast to the bulbs

    5. Using the Relay Cable, plug one end to the ballast and the other end into the headlight power

    Plug and play, really.

It's just the matter of finding a suitable place for the ballast.
Most would prefer a stealth install in the fenders or hidden within the bumpers, but that requires more effort.

Well. This does the job anyways.
    Good write up.

I just installed my HID kit...It took a lot of fiddling because the darned harness and bulbs would not fit like OEM. But I managed to tweak them and make them fit Now the lights are working fine, but I have to wait til night time to make adjustments.

Anyway, I had some help from my friend and I reckon he may have touched the bulb even though he said he didn't...whats the worst that could happen?

Bulb will blow. As your skin contains oil. oil = greater heat on the bulb = bye bye!

depends how he touched it..if its just abit shouldnt do any harm i guess.

i'm sure you'll know if it blows lol

if you touch your bulbs with your hand, the life of the bulb will be shorten, not sure will it blow as the oil from your skin decrease the life of the bulbs.

congrats teaserR, hope it looks nice and bright hehe

Clean bulbs with Isopropyl Alcohol wipes... thatll get all the oil off, stop them from blowing also, if you look at the glass and theres a brown/burnt looking patch, thatd be where he touched them... if not, he didnt touch them lol
