    Whistle sound when starting cold

    Hi there,

Whenever I start the car cold, I hear a high pitched screech as I turn the key. It ceases as soon as the engine starts.

What could be the problem and how to fix this? Is it safe to drive the car?

    Thanks for your responses.

The timing belt has recently been replaced last month.

it's got a custom cold air intake to front bar.

vaugest question plus vaugest answers ever. We need a audio clip of ur car starting up.

Is it a whistle or a SCREECH noise ?
Could be alternator/power steering/ air conditioning belt too tight / too loose.
Could be a vaccuum leak Could be low on oil / wrong oil viscosity ( engine is noisy when heating up )
