NEW 3WKS OLD FD2 fuel consumption issue

    hey guys
    this might be a repost...but
jst picked up my fd2 3wks ago and it has consistently only done about 430-450km b4 fuel light comes on. my friend said his car does at least 500km per tank....
has anyone had the same problem and what did u do about it?

    thanks

500km is remarkable in my books. I reckon to achieve that, you probably need to
    • accelerate very slowly every time you go from idle

    • make use of hills to move car instead of accelerator
    • 99% highway driving on cruise control

Im heavy footed 50% of the time and i get about 400-420km per tank. So what youre getting i think is quite good

I'm heavy footed around 25% of the time (with ocassional bursts of free-revving madness!) and I reach about 480km (before light comes on) in the 1.8L.

500ks from a tank would be almost impossible for the automatic unless if you were purely restricted to highway driving.

Best ive gotten is like 450 max.

since yours is fd2 I think you should be happy youre getting even 430.

how many clicks on your odometer? i always thought you would get better consumption once the engine was properly run in.

My (approx/estimated) 500km/tank is considering I drive city-driving in traffic 90% of the time.

you guys will have to show me the tricks. No way i can reach 500km. As soon as the LED comes on, im on about 470-480km. That was driving grandma style. No hard accelerating and 50/50 city/freeway
