DC5r cluster change = KM change?

had a search, some say it does but i need to confirm

can you change the KM reading by just changing the DC5 cluster like you can with older cars (EK,DC2)

last time i checked, DC5 is digital, so i thought maybe they is a chip inside, and the KM would stay the same even if u changed the cluster :S

    anyone can someone confirm?

i cant confirm if the kms reading will change, but yes, the dc5/dc5r has a digital readout for the odometer/trip computer.

Changing your cluster to get lower kilometres can be illegal. When selling or trading a car in you must sign a statutory declaration stating that kilometres are true and correct distance travelled by the car. You can be sued for wrongful declaration.

If you're looking to change to get your kilometres changed I urge you to reconsider. You wouldn't like it if someone else sold you a car with false kilometres so extend others the same courtesy.
